DUBLIN – Guard Tia Campbell poured in 29 points to lead East Columbus to a 45-33 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball victory over West Bladen Friday night.

Campbell blistered the nets with 14 points in the opening quarter as the Lady Gators built a 19-10 lead. Sophmore Kasee Singletary and senior Indiyah Williams buried 3-point shots in the first period for West Bladen, and Singletary added 2 free throws.

The Lady Knights rallied with an 8-1 second period blitz that sliced the East Columbus lead to 20-18 at halftime. Senior Chasitty Lacey nailed a 3-point shot, and senior Elizabeth Allbright and sophmore Seniah Johnson dropped in baskets for West Bladen in the quarter.

Campbell took charge again for East in the third quarter with 11 points on 4 baskets and a trio of free throws as the Lady Gator lead grew to 35-28. Lacey buried another 3-point shot, and Singletary threw in a pair of baskets to keep the Lady Knights close.

Hope Freeman knocked down a 3-point shot and scored 5 of her 8 points in the final quarter as the Lady Gators pulled out the win.

Singletary led the Lady Knights with 11 points, and Lacey totaled 6 points in the game.

West Bladen will travel to South Robeson Tuesday night.
