SUGGS SCORESJunior Lacey Suggs blistered the nets with a career-high 40 points Tuesday night as her unbeaten East Bladen Lady Eagles rolled to a 59-19 Four County Conference victory at Union.

The 40-point performance eclipsed Suggs’ previous career-best of 32 points which she has posted twice, most recently in a 53-26 December win at East Columbus.

Suggs also helped key the Lady Eagle defensive effort with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Senior center Imani Turner-Dobson anchored the East Bladen defense with 14 blocked shots and 6 rebounds. Turner-Dobson also dropped in 6 points.

Junior point guard Abby Ward collected 5 steals, 4 points and dished out 4 assists for the winners. Danielle McDowell came off the bench to tally 4 points for the Lady Eagles.

With Suggs shouldering most of the scoring load, the Lady Eagles raced to a 17-4 first quarter lead and widened the gap to 36-7 at halftime. A 16-6 third period spurt pushed the East Bladen lead to 52-13.

Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles are now 13-0 in the Four County and 23-0 overall. East Bladen looks to complete an unbeaten regular-season Thursday night at rival West Bladen.
