ST. PAULS – St. Pauls withstood a West Bladen fourth quarter rally and edged the Lady Knights 43-40 Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference girls basketball action.

The Lady Knights pressure defense shutout St. Pauls in the first quarter as West Bladen built an 8-0 lead. Senior Chasitty Lacey bombed in a 3-pointer, senior Mikayla Winebarger threw in a basket, junior Carley Dawson sank 2 free throws, and senior Elizabeth Allbright added a free throw.

T. J. Eichelberger pumped in 14 of her game-high 16 points in the second period to lead a 19-10 Lady Bulldog surge that edged the home team ahead 19-18 at halftime.

Sophmore Seniah Johnson fired in a 3-point shot and another basket in the second quarter, and junior Conner Brisson and sophmore Kasee Singletary tossed in baskets to keep West Bladen close.

Shaquan Anderson dropped in 4 points, and freshman Shanterria McNair hurled in a 3-point shot as St. Pauls rode a 14-6 spurt to a 33-24 lead at the quarter break.

Brisson pumped in 3 baskets and a free throw for West Bladen in the final period, but the Lady Knights could get no closer than 3 points. Senior Patience Parker drained a 3-point shot and another basket, and teammates Nyasia Ellison and Allbright added a basket each.

Brisson led the Lady Knights with 9 points, and Lacey, Parker, Johnson and Allbright finished with 5 points each.

The Lady Knights are scheduled to host South Columbus Thursday night and East Bladen Friday.
