ST PAULS – Freshman Jakieya Thompson fired in 18 points Tuesday night to lead St. Pauls to a 52-22 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball victory over West Bladen.

Thompson drained a 3-point shot, and sophmore Taliyah Council dropped in a basket and a free throw as the Lady Bulldogs took an 8-3 first quarter lead. Senior Kasee Singletary bombed in a 3-point shot for West Bladen in the period.

Center Iyania Evans muscled in 2 baskets and 2 free throws to lead an 18-2 St. Paul spurt in the second quarter. Thompson and T. J. Eichelberger threw in 3-point shots and Council netted 4 points as the lead grew to 26-5 at halftime.

Two baskets from Thompson helped widen the gap to 39-11 after 3 periods. Freshman Lainey Autry nailed a 3-point shot, and senior Seniah Johnson pumped in a basket for the Lady Knights.

Senior Lexie Corrothers tossed in 2 baskets and a free throw for West in the final quarter. Freshman Rylee Chadwick flipped in a basket, and Autry and sophmore Haley George sank 2 free throws each.

Corrothers led the Lady Knights with 6 points. Autry followed with 5 points, and George totaled 4 points. Council followed Thompson with 10 points for St. Pauls, and Evans added 9 points.

The Lady Knights, now 5-1 in the TRC and 7-3 overall, will host South Columbus Friday night.
