West Bladen High School LogoTEACHEY – Shiaries Carlton and Jordan Maynor combined for 29 points to lead Wallace-Rose Hill to a 52-41 Four County Conference girls basketball victory over West Bladen Monday night.

The Lady Knights trailed 25-21 at halftime, but Maynor fired in 9 points and Carlton added 8 points during a 19-11 Lady Bulldog third quarter surge that opened up a 44-32 lead.

Carlton tallied 4 points in the final quarter and topped all scorers with 15 points, and Maynor scored 3 points in the period and finished with 14 points.

The Lady Bulldogs built a 14-9 first period lead as Sadejah Murphy bombed in a 3-pointer and scored 6 points. Junior Patience Parker tossed in a pair of baskets for West Bladen in the quarter, and seniors Logan Autry and Jerena Purdie threw in a basket each to go with an Akira Grimes free throw.

Parker sank a trio of free throws and a basket in the second period, and junior Elizabeth Allbright pumped in a basket and a free throw. Autry and sophmore Erica McKoy chipped in with a basket each before halftime.

Senior Laikyn Pait nailed a 3-point shot and another basket for the Lady Knights in the third period. Purdie worked in close for a pair of baskets, and senior Jenna Dove added a basket.

Junior Mikayla Winebarger, Indiyah Williams, Grimes and Purdie scored a basket each in the final quarter for West, and Pait hit a free throw.

Parker led the Lady Knights with 9 points, and Purdie followed with 8 points. Pait finished with 6 points.

The Lady Knights, now 5-4 in league play and 9-10 overall, will travel to Pender Wednesday night.
