TABOR CITY – Junior Rylee Chadwick and sophomore Brookee Singletary combined for 28 points to lead West Bladen to a 43-22 non-conference girls basketball victory over South Columbus Tuesday night in the season opener for the Lady Knights.

Chadwick pumped in 4 baskets and Singletary sank 2 foul shots and another basket as the Lady Knights built a 12-5 1st period lead. Junior Kirsten Warwick bombed in a pair of 3-point shots, and Chadwick dropped in 2 more buckets to grow the lead to 22-12 at halftime.

Singletary and Chadwick pumped in 2 baskets each, and sophomore Mallory Bryan added a bucket as the Lady Knights rode a 10-2 run to a 32-14 lead at the 3rd quarter break.

Junior Makayla Wright connected on a trio of foul shots and a field goal in the final period. Singletary worked the paint for 4 more points in the 4th quarter.

Warwick finished with 6 points, and Wright tallied 5 points for the winners. Alexis Jordan led the Lady Stallions with 8 points, and Isabella Coleman followed with 6 points.

Coach Brian McCleney’s Lady Knights will host East Columbus Tuesday night.
