BLADENBORO – West Bladen raced to leads of 18-0 and 42-0 en route to a 52-12 non-conference girls basketball victory over West Columbus Friday night.

Senior Rylee Chadwick fired in 13 of her game-high 15 points in the opening half to spark the Lady Knights to the early lead. Freshman Natalee Sykes rang up 10 points in the first half then bombed in a 3-point shot after halftime to finish with 13 points.

Junior Megan Pait knocked down a 3-point shot in each half an finished with 6 points. Sophomore Holland Davis, Brookee Singletary and junior Kiera Lewis all scored 4 points each.

Iyana Lowery and Kimel Lennon led West Columbus with 5 points each.

“It was the first game for West Columbus,” said Lady Knight Coach Brian McCleney. “We had an excellent rotation, and came back with energy after those 2 games earlier in the week. The 2nd group played a lot of minutes, and I was proud of their effort.”

West Bladen, now 3-1, will host North Brunswick Tuesday night.
