BLADENBORO – Senior Salome Campbell pumped in 12 of her game-high 18 points in the second half as Westover rallied for a 45-41 non-conference girls basketball victory over West Bladen Tuesday night.
Junior Kasee Singletary bombed in a pair of 3-point shots and threw in another basket in the first period as the Lady Knights raced to a 13-6 lead. Senior Scjada Ellison tossed in two baskets and a free throw for West in the period.
Freshman guard Haley George and junior Seniah Johnson drained 3-point shots in the second quarter for West Bladen. Singletary and senior Carley Dawson dropped in baskets, and junior Mikayla Meadows sank 2 free throws to push the Lady Knight lead to 25-14 at halftime.
Junior Lexie Corrothers netted a basket and 2 free throws in the third quarter, and junior Tatiana Hunt nailed a 3-point shot to keep West ahead 32-27.
Singletary canned four free throws in the final quarter, and Dawson flipped in a basket and a free throw, but the Lady Wolverines used an 18-9 spurt to claim the victory.
Singletary topped the West Bladen scoring with 14 points. George, Dawson and Ellison finished with 5 points each, and Corrothers added 4 points.
Sophmore Alyssa Bethea followed Campbell with 10 points for Westover.
