East Bladen’s defense completely stymied Pender as the Lady Eagles cruised to a 5-0 Four County Conference girls soccer victory over the visiting Lady Patriots Tuesday night.
The Lady Eagles were credited with 71 steals in the game and did not allow the Lady Patriots to attempt a single shot on goal. Senior goalkeeper Kathryn Cole recorded the shutout without having to make a save.
Senior Lacey Suggs led East Bladen with 18 steals, and sophmore Hannah Devane came up with 12 steals. Senior Abby Ward made 10 steals, and senior Claire Campbell had 8 steals.
Junior Lexie Mendell was credited with 7 steals, and junior Justyna Gargala and freshmen Ting Lin and Ashley Hardin had 4 steals each.
