ELIZABETHTOWN – Junior Maya McDonald poured in 5 goals – a ‘Hat Trick’ plus 2 – Monday to lead East Bladen to a 9-0 non-conference girls’ soccer victory over West Bladen.

McDonald also dished out 2 assists and collected 12 steals. Senior Josephina Torres fired in 2 goals and also finished with 12 steals. Senior Katie Evans and her freshman sister Molly Evans scored one goal each for the winners. Katie Evans dished out a team-high 3 assists and racked up 23 steals.

Sophomore Acee Campbell and Molly Evans were credited with one assist each for the Lady Eagles. Senior Sara Gargala sparked the East Bladen defense with 27 steals. Freshman Reese Hester contributed 21 steals, sophomore Cydney Campbell totaled 19 steals, and Acee Campbell finished with 18 steals.

Freshman Zoe Evans collected 17 steals, and Molly Evans racked up 15 steals. Junior Merritt Martin had 13 steals. Senior Lily Lin recorded the shutout in goal for East Bladen and had one save.

East Bladen led 5-0 at halftime. Coach Jay Raynor’s Lady Eagles improved to 5-0 and will travel to St. Pauls Wednesday for a 5:30 game. West Bladen will host West Columbus Monday, April 12th.
