BLADENBORO – South Columbus scored a goal in each half and defeated West Bladen 2-0 Tuesday night in non-conference girls’ soccer action.

Junior Briana Carranza Toledo played the first 21 minutes in goal for the Lady Knights and recorded 4 saves. Senior Lainey Autry took over in goal for the final 59 minutes and was credited with 8 saves.

Senior Nadia Diaz Deleon, junior Shamaria Jackson and sophomore Haileigh Seabolt led the West Bladen defense by recording 7 steals each. Sophomore Ashley Sanchez-Resendiz chalked up 5 steals, and freshman Karla Mejia Rodriguez, sophomore Yuridia Santana-Dominguez, junior Brookee Singletary and freshman Leidi Zuniga Labra had 4 steals each.

The Lady Knights, now 2-6, will travel to Union Thursday at 6 p.m.
