ST PAULS – Freshman Jazmy Funez Aranda scored both goals, including the deciding goal in overtime, as West Bladen’s Lady Knights captured a 2-1 Southeastern Athletic Conference girls soccer victory over St. Pauls Friday night.
Junior Makayla Wright sent an assist to Aranda off of a free kick in the overtime period, and Aranda banged in the deciding goal that snapped a 1-1 tie.
Aranda gave the Lady Knights a 1-0 first half lead by turning an assist from junior Kaden Thurman into the 1st goal of the game. St. Pauls tied the game 1-1 in the 2nd half.
Sophomore Briana Carranza Toledo was credited with 3 saves in goal for the Lady Knights. West Bladen outshot the Lady Bulldogs 8-4.
Coach Kristen Parker’s Lady Knights improved to 4-2 in SAC-7 play and 5-2 overall. West Bladen will travel to Midway Tuesday night.
