CERRO GORDO – Senior Alexis Bowen poured in 4 goals Wednesday night to lead West Columbus to a 7-1 Three Rivers Conference girls soccer victory over West Bladen.

Bowen scored twice in the first 7 minutes, and Ashlynn Dickerson added a goal as the Lady Viking lead grew to 4-0 at halftime. Bowen netted another goal 3 minutes into the second half.

Freshman Ocean Woody broke the scoring ice for West Bladen twelve minutes into the second half with a goal off of an assist from senior Josefina Taboda that trimmed the margin to 5-1.

Sophmore Emily Faulk scored for West Columbus, before Bowen tacked on her final goal midway the second half.

Sophmore Alyssa Smith posted six saves in goal for the Lady Knights in the first half. Junior Reina Cruz recorded a pair of saves in the second half for West Bladen.

Senior Melennie Hernandez, Taboda, sophmore Claudia Reyes and junior Winter Graham had shots on goal for West Bladen.

The Lady Knights will travel to Purnell Swett Friday for a 6 p.m. non-conference match.
