ELIZABETHTOWN – The East Bladen doubles team of sophomores Jackie Medina Leal and Anna Marie Miranda pulled out a 9-7 victory in the deciding No. 3 doubles match to edge East Bladen past West Bladen 5-4 Tuesday in Southeastern Athletic Conference girls’ tennis action.

Lady Knight seniors Kaden Thurman, Lainey Autry and Olivia Skipper won their singles matches, and Thurman and Autry teamed up to win the No. 1 doubles match.

However sophomores Chandler Bordeaux, Leah McGill and Medina Leal claimed singles victories for East Bladen, and senior Ashlyn Williams paired with McGill to post a victory in the No. 2 doubles match.

Leal/Miranda (EB) def. Douglas/Wilkins (WB) 9-7

Other members of the East Bladen team are Kasey Kinlaw, Ranay Bell and Chelsea Lesane.

Coach Megan Kirby’s Lady Eagles, now 4-6 in SAC-7 play and 4-10 overall, will get ready for the SAC-7 Tournament. West Bladen, now 4-5 in SAC-7 play and 5-8 overall, will host Fairmont Thursday.
