FAIRMONT – West Bladen freshman Kiera Lewis and sophomore Brookee Singletary won their singles matches then teamed up to win the deciding doubles match as the Lady Knights edged Fairmont 5-4 in Southeastern Athletic Conference girls’ tennis action.

Junior Kaden Thurman won a tiebreaker 10-2 to post a win at No. 1 singles then teamed with senior Courtney Hester to outlast Fairmont 10-6 in a tiebreaker that decided the No. 1 doubles match.

“Great win for the Lady Knights against a good Fairmont team to secure at least a tie for 2nd place in the conference,” said West Bladen Coach Bill Bryant.

The Lady Knights improved to 5-2 in SAC-7 play and 7-3 overall and are scheduled to host Red Springs Tuesday at 4 p.m
