Giving Tuesday, or #GivingTuesday, occurs the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving. It is a day set aside for making contributions to charitable organizations, according to www.givingtuesday.org.

Everyone is encouraged to make a contribution to the charity of their choice today. There are many noteworthy Bladen County non-profits and organizations from which to choose,  including but not limited to, Bladen We Care, Southeastern Carolina Crossroads, Cape Fear Teen Challenge, Bladen Crisis Assistance, Families First, Inc., the Bladen Baptist Association, and the Bladenboro Police Department’s Christmas for Kids, the United Way of Bladen County or a local civic group or another charity of your choice.

You can also check on an organization before giving by going to charitynavigator.org.
