Gov. Cooper, Coronavirus Task Force to hold news conference

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper and members of the Coronavirus Task Force have scheduled a news conference at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 from the Emergency Operations Center in Raleigh.

The Governor is expected to address the state’s next step in dealing with COVID-19. His Phase 2 executive order as part of a three-step process to ease restrictions in the state put in place to deal with the virus expires Friday, June 26.

As of 11:55 a.m. Tuesday, the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services reported a total of 54,453 confirmed cases and 1,251 deaths attributed to the virus in the state. There had been 773,828 completed tests.
