A grave belonging to a Confederate soldier was reported to have been disturbed last week at Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church. The church which dates back to 1845, is located in the Council community of Bladen County on NC 87.

According to reports, a man was cutting the grass at Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church when he saw that a grave had been disturbed and called the police. The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

According to reports, deputies arrived to find a hole on top of the grave that measured about 3-feet in width. Authorities are not sure if anything is missing from the soldier’s grave.

Anyone with any information regarding the disturbance of the grave is asked to call the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office at 910-862-6960.
