WINNABOW – East Bladen grads Greyson Heustess and Xavier Wooten were members of the West Fayetteville team that won the NC Dixie Baseball Majors State Tournament Tuesday at Town Creek Park.

Heustess was named the Most Valuable Player in the State Tournament. He batted a sizzling .625 in the tournament and walked six times from his leadoff position in the West Fayetteville batting order.

Wooten pitched and played right field for West Fayetteville in the tournament. Wooten made a key diving catch in the championship game to help preserve the victory.

Heustess, Wooten and the West Fayetteville team advance to the Dixie Baseball Majors World Series that begins July 27 in Sterlington, LA.
