A groundbreaking for the construction of a new female dormitory and male bath house at the
NC Future Farmers of America (FFA) Center at White Lake will take place Wednesday, August
1, at 1:15 p.m.

According to information supplied by the FFA Foundation, there is a need for additional space
for females and a need for renovations to the existing female dormitory. Plans are to add an
additional 60 extra female bed spaces, which would allow for 420 additional female FFA
members to attend events. Thornton added there are also plans to construct a male bath house
at the camp.

Efforts are under way to raise $1 million towards the construction costs. The FFA Foundation is seeking philanthropic partners for the FFA initiative.

There will also be Women in Agriculture panel discussions beginning at 11 AM, followed by
lunch and the groundbreaking ceremony.
