The National Fallen Firefighters Memorial will be observed on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2018, Sunrise to Sunset. In accordance to Public Law 107-51, the American flag should be lowered to half-staff on Sunday, October 6 sunrise to sunset. This half-staff is in observance of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial.

119 firefighters lost their lives since last years memorial. Regrettably, this is one of the most overlooked half-staff memorials, probably due to being held on a Sunday. I hope everyone will make a strong effort to comply with this important event honoring our firefighters.
