HALLSBORO –A 5-run sixth-inning rally snapped a 10-10 tie and propelled Hallsboro to a 15-12 Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball victory over Bladenboro Wednesday.

Rylee Chadwick was hit by a pitch, and Lainey Autry walked in the Lady Bulldog first inning and both of them stole bases and scored runs.

A. Jacobs tripled home a run then scored to pull Hallsboro even 2-2 in the home first.

Kallie Bass led off the Bladenboro second inning with a single, Marlie Walters reached base on an error, and Megan West walked. Bass dashed home on a passed ball, and Megan Pait walked.

Chadwick smashed a double that scored Walters and West. Autry reached base on an error as Pait and Chadwick scored. Autry scored as Kolee Wilkins reached base on an error to give the Lady Bulldogs an 8-2 lead.

West reached base on an error to start the Bladenboro third and scored on Autry’s infield hit to pad the lead to 9-2.

Hallsboro rallied with 4 runs in the third inning on 4 hits and an error then pulled even with 3 runs in the fourth inning on 2 hits, an error and a walk.

Pait walked to start the Bladenboro fifth inning, Autry reached base on an error, and McKenzie Singletary drove in Pait with a single to edge the Lady Bulldogs ahead 10-9. Hallsboro used two hits to tie the game again 10-10.

Two walks, an error and four hits produced the 5 Lady Tiger runs in the sixth inning.

Pait led off the Bladenboro seventh with a walk, and Chadwick walloped a double. Singletary belted a single that scored Pait, and Chadwick scored on an error to trim the margin to 15-12. The Lady Bulldogs had one runner thrown out at the plate and left the bases loaded.

Chadwick slammed 2 doubles with 2 runs batted in and scored 3 runs. Singletary batted 2-4 with 2 rbi’s. Autry finished 2-5 at the plate with an rbi and 2 runs scored. Wilkins and Bass added one hit each. Pait scored 3 runs, and West scored 2 runs. Walters and Bass scored one run each.

Chadwick struck out ten batters and walked three for Bladenboro.

Mitchell batted 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead Hallsboro. Karlie Godwin was 3-5 with a triple and 4 runs scored. A. Jacobs batted 2-4 with a triple and 3 runs scored. Andrews was 2-3 and 2 runs scored.

Bladenboro is now 5-3 in the Waccamaw’s AA Division and 5-4 overall. The Lady Bulldogs will host Williams Thursday.
