Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday that is referred to as “The Festival of Lights,” according to the website myjewishlearning.com.
It is a time of celebrating and commemorating the victory of the Isrealites over the Greek army and the relighting of the lamp in the Holy Temple of Jerusalem.

Some of the traditions of Hanukkah include the lighting of the candles of the Menorah over a period of eight days.

Families also play dreidel, eat traditional foods, and exchange gifts, according to My Jewish Learning.

Some of the foods that are traditionally enjoyed during Hanukkah include potato latkes, doughnuts called sufganiyot, and various other treats prepared in oil, according to judaism.about.com.
