The newly constructed Hardees restaurant in Elizabethtown is scheduled to open at 5 a.m. Monday. The restaurant is located at 213 S. Poplar Street in front of Badcock Furniture.

The Hardees location in Tar Heel will stand at the intersection of NC 87 and Tar Heel Ferry Road. The new restaurant will have a seating capacity of 82 people. This location is now accepting applications for employment online at http://www.pleaseapplyonline.com/southstar/

Hardees Restaurants offers customers a menu that includes such favorites as Chicken tenders, Spicy Chicken Tenders, Double Cheeseburgers, Thickburgers and more. The Hardees restaurant chain was begun by Wilbur Hardee in Greenville, NC in 1960. According to an article that appeared in Our State Magazine, Hardee used char-grills to give his hamburgers a distinct flavor that was different from the other hamburger chains of that era. Hardee soon left the business that bares his name but never really left the restaurant business.
