Harmony Hall
Spread the love

This weekend, if you heard the bell ringing at Harmony Hall that meant someone donated some funds to the help replace the wooden shingles on the roof at the historical site. Maureen Thompson Bell made the announcement this past Saturday on her Facebook page about the fundraising efforts. According to Maureen, the wooden shingle roof at Harmony Hall is in desperate need of repair and is estimated to cost around $7,000.

“The wooden shingle roof is in horrible condition and water will eventually ruin the upper level on down. We desperately need funds to pay for it,” Maureen said.

Today Maureen posted her progress with the fundraiser,  “$6,439.00 to go till I reach the $7,000.00 goal for Harmony Hall’s New Re-shingled roof. Sure wish I had $1.00 (or $5.00) for every LIKE from donations, pledges, comments, shares, etc.” She continued, “We’re going to ”blast the canon” when we reach $1,000.00 and for each additional $1,000.00.”

This past weekend for every dollar that was donated Maureen or the donor would ring the bell at Harmony Hall. Today while talking about wanting to reach her goal of $7,000, Maureen said, “Wonder if we’ll do it by ”Ringing the Bell”? 7,000 tolls. Hummmmm, now that’s an interesting thought.”

Maureen gave some encouraging words, “Come on folks!!! We’re going to reach $1,000.00 before the end of this week; wait and see!!!! Tomorrow, the numbers will change!”

All you have to do is comment that you will make a donation on her post on Facebook. Then make your check payable to Harmony Hall Foundation and mail it to 3759 NC Hwy 53 W., Elizabethtown, NC 28337.  We hope to see the cannon fired at least seven times.
