Harmony Hall

The “Let Freedom Ring” Fundraiser for a new roof for Harmony Hall is on a roll. The Pre-Revolutionary War historic plantation home located on the Cape Fear River in White Oak is in desperate need of a new wood shingle roof. The estimated expense of the roof is around $7,000.

McDuffie Pest Control of Elizabethtown donated quarterly pest control services for a year to Harmony Hall to help protect the building against termites and rodents. Dana McDuffie, with McDuffie Pest Control said, “I feel it is important to keep this historical landmark protected for future generations.”

Maureen Bell, Harmony Hall Fundraiser Coordinator and local photographer and business owner was very excited about McDuffie Pest Control’s gift. She said, “This is a huge blessing as mice are bad out there.”

This fundraising efforts started on Independence Day by “ringing the bell” at Harmony Hall Plantation Chapel for every donation. The bell will continue ringing until enough funds are raised to re-shingle the roof.

For more information or to make a donation email maureentb1122@gmail.com or find Maureen Thompson Bell on Facebook. Please make donations payable to Harmony Hall Plantation, Inc. and mail to Maureen Thompson Bell at 3759 NC Hwy 53 W., Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
