Harrells Christian AcademySenior Marcus Scarborough and junior Tyshii Scarborough combined to rush for 253 yards and 3 touchdowns as they led Harrells Christian Academy to a 36-20 victory over Wake Christian Thursday night at Harrells.

Tyshii Scarborough who carried 13 times for 111 yards in the game raced 63 yards for the game’s first touchdown. Freshman Stancil Bowles booted the extra point for a 7-0 lead.

Wake Christian scored on an 8-yard touchdown pass to tie the game 7-7, but the Crusaders answered quickly as junior quarterback Gray Fussell hurled a 77-yard touchdown pass to senior Marcellos Allison. Bowles tacked on the conversion for a 14-6 HCA lead.

Marcus Scarborough dashed 6 yards for a second quarter touchdown that stretched the Harrells lead to 20-6. Marcus Scarborough led the Crusaders with 142 yards rushing on 19 carries.

Wake Christian connected on a 26-yard touchdown pass to slice the lead to 20-14 at halftime.

Marcus Scarborough galloped 40 yards for his second touchdown of the game in the third quarter. Tyshii Scarborough ran for the 2-point conversion that stretched the Harrells lead to 28-14.

Wake Christian responded with a 4-yard touchdown run later in the quarter to trim the margin to 28-20.

Senior Kevin Carney plowed into the end zone from a yard out in the fourth quarter, and Allison ran the 2-point conversion to seal the victory for Harrells.

It was the first NCISAA Big East Conference game for the Crusaders who improved to 3-4 overall. Harrells Christian will travel to North Raleigh Christian next Friday for a 7:30 game.
