Harrells, NC – On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, Harrells Christian Academy senior Jahiem Murphy signed his letter of intent to play football with the Division II Fayetteville State University Broncos in Fayetteville, North Carolina. A standout offensive/defensive tackle and team captain, Jahiem recorded 78 tackles and 11 sacks in his senior year. With his leadership, the Crusaders were Big East Conference Champions and reached the NCISAA State Championship game this season. Jahiem was a three-year starter for HCA. He is also a member of the varsity basketball team.
Jahiem is the son of Claudia Murphy and Michael Blount and lives in Garland. He is an active member of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Jahiem has been a student at Harrells for three years. At Fayetteville State, Jahiem plans to major in psychology and communications.
Jodie Nelson, art teacher at HCA said of Jahiem, “I couldn’t be more proud of Jahiem. When you work hard, you get to play hard. Fayetteville State is so lucky.”
