The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Bladen County beginning Tuesday (today) at 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The advisory also includes Robeson County and reaches into inland South Carolina counties.

Hot conditions are forecast with heat index values up to 106 degrees expected, according to the National Weather Service. The high temperature Tuesday in Bladen County is expected to reach 94 degrees.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses and NWS recommends people drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, if possible, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
