The National Weather Service Office in Wilmington is forecasting hot temperatures for the week ahead. Meteorologist Stephen Keebler said there may be a need for heat advisories to be issued later this week.

Temperatures are forecast to climb to the upper 90s each day with heat indexes reaching between 100 and 104 degrees daily.

Keebler says thunderstorm chances will increase each day throughout the week.

Those who work outdoors are encouraged to wear light colored clothing, take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water, according to the National Weather Service Office.
