Incumbent Jerome Myers was one of two men who filed for seats on the Clarkton Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, joining incumbent Tim Tart in the race for the two seats available.

Stephen Wayne Hester also filed for the Clarkton commissioners race Tuesday, according to Gina Ward, who is the deputy director for Bladen County Board of Elections.

The filings bring the total to 17 candidates for municipal elections set Nov. 7. However, several races still lack candidates, don’t have enough candidates to fill available seats or have only the minimum amount of candidates to fill available seats.

Deadline to file is noon Friday at the Bladen County Board of Elections on South Cypress Street in Elizabethtown. Fee is $5. For information, call (910) 862-6953.
