Ashli M. Heustess has been named a semi-finalist for the National Beta Club 2016 scholarship.

She is a senior at East Bladen High School. According to Max Preps, Heustess has participated in basketball, volleyball, soccer and softball.

Heustess was one of 256 students who were selected to advance to the final selection process. The five finalists will be announced in March.

Also selected from the region as a semi-finalist was Catherine Armstrong who attends Harrells Christian Academy.

According to the National Beta Club, some of the criteria for the scholarship include academic excellence, leadership, strong character, school and community service and the applicant’s participation in National Beta Club activities.
