Both Bladen schools officially started football practice Saturday, and turnouts were what was expected numbers wise.

“The first day went well, “ said East Bladen Coach Robby Priest. “We had 35 varsity players come-out and about another 30 jayvee players. It was about what we expected.”

The Eagles who shared the Four County Conference championship last year and finished with a 10-3 record will begin their 2015 scrimmage schedule on August 12 at South Brunswick, and then take part in the first ‘Battle of the Carolinas’ on August 13 at Lumberton.

West Bladen’s first official practice was Saturday morning, and Coach Russell Dove was happy to get it started. “We had 32 varsity players come-out,” said Coach Dove. “That was about what we expected. Saturday went well, and we will be back out there working Monday morning.”

The Knights who finished with a 6-5 record a year ago have a scrimmage scheduled at Green Sea/Floyd, SC on August 11.
