Mrs. Althea Weaver, formally Althea Dixon, and Mrs. Leisha Brown, formally Leisha Munn, have shared many memories together over the years including being East Bladen Royalty. Weaver and Brown, both raised in East Arcadia, met when they were around the age of nine, while learning to roller skate.
Their families were close friends but felt more like family. After high school and their reign as royalty at East Bladen they parted ways to attend college. Weaver attended and graduated from both Miller-Motte and Fayetteville State University and Brown attended North Carolina Central University and graduated from Bladen Community College. Following college, Weaver married and had two beautiful daughters and Brown married and had three handsome sons.
The friends reunited in 1999 when they both were employed by the Bladen County Clerk’s Office. Weaver serves as an Assistant Clerk of Court as well as the Supervisor of the Civil Division of the Clerk’s Office. Brown serves as an Assistant Clerk of Court as well as the Supervisor of the Criminal Department in the Clerk of Court’s Office.
