Dublin, NC – Bladen Community College is pleased to welcome Cliff Tyndall, a noted historian and author, for a special speaker event on Wednesday, March 26, at 11:10 AM in Building 14, Room 107. Tyndall will present on Fort Fisher During World War II, the subject of his upcoming book written in collaboration with the experts at Fort Fisher.
Fort Fisher is best known for its role in the Civil War, but its strategic importance continued into the 20th century. During World War II, the fort served as a key military installation, supporting
coastal defense efforts and training operations. Tyndall’s presentation will shed light on this often-overlooked chapter of the fort’s history, providing fascinating insights drawn from his extensive research.
Tyndall is the author of several historical works, including A Snapshot of Kinston & Lenoir County During World War II, A Snapshot of Kinston and Lenoir County During the Civil War, Camp Davis: A 21st Century History and Guidebook, and Greetings from Camp Davis: The History of a WWII Army Base. His expertise in North Carolina’s military history makes this an event history enthusiasts won’t want to miss.
This event is free and open to the public, offering students, faculty, and community members a chance to engage with local history and gain a deeper understanding of North Carolina’s role in World War II.
