Nick Hoffman won the Showdown at Sundown race Saturday night at Dublin Motor Speedway and the $3,000 first prize, beating Derrick Ramey to the checkered flag by almost a second in the 30-lap Southeast Dirt Modified Series feature race.
Twelve of the 22 cars that started the race finished on the lead lap, including former Sprint Cup driver David Stremme, who finished fourth.
Hoffman, from Morresville, won for the second time this season in the Southeast Dirt Modified Series. He won the $4,000 top prize during the season-opening weekend Feb. 7 at Golden Isles Speedway in Waynesville, Georgia.
The SEDMS is a touring series based in Wilson. It has scheduled between 15-20 feature races in 2016 throughout the southeast, including a return trip to Dublin Motor Speedway on July 23. The series held a race at Fayetteville Motor Speedway on April 9 and will return to Fayetteville on May 27-28.
In the other featured race Saturday at Dublin, Cameron Norris won the Super Street race and the $750 top prize. It was his first win of the season at Dublin.
