Easter Week or Holy Week, as it is known around the world, is a time of great reverence for many individuals. Many churches will mark the occasion with activities and special services.
Many churches and other groups in Bladen County have announced special schedules.
Tuesday, March 27, Passion Week Services continue at 7 p.m. at St. James Fire Baptized Holiness Church in Elizabethtown. The guest speaker will be Overseer Lonnice Graham.
Wednesday, March 28, Passion Week Services continue at 7 p.m. at the Dublin Highway Holiness Church in Dublin. The guest speaker will be Pastor Billie Thompson
On Thursday, March 29, Passion Week Services continue at 7 p.m. at Full Gospel Church of Deliverance, Inc. Communion will be served and the guest speaker will be the Rev. James McKinnon
Sandy Grove Baptist Church near Bladenboro will conduct a Maundy-Thursday Service on Thursday, March 29th, at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend for a night of worship and communion as we remember the Lord’s last supper with His disciples and the start of the Passion Week. Sandy Grove Baptist Church is located at 8299 NC 242 Highway South.
The Bladen Charge of the United Methodist Church will have a Maundy-Thursday Service at Live Oak United Methodist Church at 7 p.m.
Trinity United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown will have Maundy-Thursday Services at 7 p.m. pm Thursday, March 29.
On Friday, March 30, Passion Week Services continue at 7 p.m. at Greater McKoy’s Chapel, Inc. in Dublin. This will be a service hosted by the youth.
The Bladen Charge will conduct a Good Friday service at Windsor United Methodist in Ammon at 7 p.m.
Saturday, March 31, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt at Jones Lake State Park at 11 a.m. There will also be games, prizes and more. Pre-registration is encouraged. For more information or to pre-register your child, call Jones Lake State Park at 910-588-4550.
On March 31, Hickory Grove Baptist Church will have an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. Children of all ages are welcome. There will be a reading of the Easter story, games and lunch.
Pleasant Grove Independent Church will have an Easter Egg Hunt at 11:30 a.m. During this event children will hear the gospel message about Jesus and will have hotdogs with all the trimmings and sides. Everyone is invited to come and join in the fun, food and fellowship. Pleasant Grove Independent Church is located at 2039 Pleasant Grove Church Road Bladenboro.
Sandy Grove Baptist Church near Bladenboro will have an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. There will be games, coloring, food, and the Egg Hunt.
The Elizabethtown Church of God will have an Easter Egg Drop on Saturday, March 31, at 3 p.m. There will also be a telling of the Easter story and games and more. The church is located at 1767 NC Highway 242 North, Elizabethtown.
Trinity United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown will have an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31, at 11 a.m.
Foundation Bible Church will have a High School and College Service at 7 p.m. The church is located at 1107 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown.
Easter Sunday celebrations are planned at many Bladen County churches.
Carvers Creek AME Zion Church will hold a Sunrise Service at 6 am with Elder Pearly G Hoskins. Service
On Sunday, April 1, at 6 a.m., a Sun Rise service will be held at Dublin Highway Holiness. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Ronald Newkirk.
Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church in Elizabethtown will celebrate Easter Mass at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 1st. The church is located at 701 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown.

Pleasant Grove Independent Church will have an Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 1st, at 7 a.m. followed by a “good ‘ole fashion country breakfast”! Sunday school will start at 10 a.m. and worship service will take place at 11 a.m. The Pleasant Grove Independent Church is located at 2039 Pleasant Grove Church Road Bladenboro, NC 28320.
Tar Heel Baptist Church will offer two services on Easter Sunday. They will have a sunrise service beginning at 7 a.m. followed by a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and Sunday School at 9:15 a.m. There will be a worship service at 10 a.m.
Lake Church will celebrate Easter Sunrise at 7 a.m. on the lake front at the White Lake Christian Camp and Retreat Center. That will be followed by their Worship Service at 8:32 a.m. at The Venue at White Lake.
On Easter Sunday, the White Oak Family Worship Center in White Oak will have a Community Sunrise Service at 7 a.m.
Foundation Bible Church will have Easter Services at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The church is located at 1107 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown.
There will be an Early Rise Service at Old Trinity United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 1. The church is located at 311 East Broad Street, Elizabethtown.
The Bladen Charge will have Easter Worship Services at Windsor United Methodist at 8:45 a.m., Bethlehem United Methodist in White Oak at 10 a.m. and Live Oak United Methodist in White Oak at 11 a.m.
There will be a Community Sunrise Service in Dublin at 7 a.m. at Dublin Pentecostal Free Will Baptist on Sunday, April 1st.
Dublin First Baptist Church will will have their Easter Worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 1st.

The Elizabethtown Baptist Church will have an Easter Worship Service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 1st. The church is located at 1800 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown.
On Easter Monday, at least one organization will have an Egg Hunt. BeeYhuu, C.L.K. Kids and Royalty Enterprise will have an Easter Egg Hunt on Monday, April 2, at the Bladen County Park located on US Highway 701 South, Elizabethtown, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
