As of Wednesday one more candidate has made his intentions known by filing for 2016 election.

Thomas Howell Jr. of Bladenboro has filed as a Libertarian candidate for NC House of Representatives District 46 seat.

Brenden Jones has also filed for the Republican primary for the same seat.

The filing period ends at noon on Monday, Dec. 21.

Other locally contested races for the March 2016 Primary include

Dem. Kenneth Register Jr. has filed seeking election to the County Commissioner District 3 seat. He will be challenging incumbent Dem. Wayne Edge in the democratic primary.

County Commissioner Countywide four candidates have filed seeking election in the democratic primary. They are Pam Benton, David Gooden and incumbents Michael Cogdell and James G. “Jimmie” Smith.

In the Bladen County Board of Education District 1 race Sabrina Murchison and Glenn C. McCoy have filed for the democratic primary.

In the Bladen County Board of Education District 2 race, Berry Lewis and incumbent Wilbur Smith Jr. have filed for the democratic primary.

Also filing were:

In the district court judge’s race, there are four seats available in District 13 – Jerry Jolly, Marion Warren, Pauline Hankins and Scott Ussery.  Filing for the Warren seat is Jason C. Disbrow and filing for election to the Jolly seat is C. Ashley Gore. Filing for re-election to his was Judge Scott Ussery and Pauline Hankins has filed seeking re-election to her seat.

In the U.S. Senate race, filing for the Republican primary are incumbent Richard Burr, Larry Holquist and Paul Wright and in the democratic primary are Deborah Ross, Chris Rey and Ron Senyal.
