With Hurricane Irma’s path still remaining uncertain, now is a good time to think about not only preparing your home for the storm but your computer. Here are some simple tips that can save you time and keep your computer and data safe during and after the storm.

*Remember to get all of your computer equipment off the floor. Your equipment should be put up on a counter or desk. Water on the floor from a blown off roof or flooding can ruin a machine.

*Make sure you cover the computer, monitor, printer, keyboard, etc. is in trash bags.  Make sure all equipment is turned off and unplugged before covering.

*Make sure you have good back up files and you carry them off-site or with you if you have to evacuate.

*If your area floods, carry your computer tower with you when you evacuate. Computers can be replaced but your data cannot.
