A local North Carolina entertainment for geeks and nerds alike, Fayetteville Comic-Con, is just around the corner! The yearly Convention has four dates this year, two in June and two in October. The dates for June have been scheduled for Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th. The Convention has consistently attracted a crowd of eager attendants every year.

The local Convention is hosted in The Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville, NC. It has a variety of events to look forward to, ranging from the dealer’s room, where you can buy anything and everything geek-related, to the cosplay contest where people can show off the amazing costumes they can make! The Convention also hosts tournaments for Trading Card Games, such as Magic The Gathering, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh! They also have the possibility of hosting animal and reptile shows.

Mac Barnes, owner of Kessel Run Comics in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, stated in an interview, “Even if you’ve never experienced a comic-con before, the experience is normally family-friendly and very inclusive.”

While the Convention will not require masks or temperature checks, they suggest that people do wear masks during their time in the venue. To quote from the Fayetteville Comic-Con website, “Our venue, the Crown Expo Center, currently has NO mask mandate, temperature checks, or proof of vaccination requirements.”
