MarkAndersonOrganist and composer Mark Andersen returns to the console of the Civic Center’s Robert Morton theater organ on Thursday, July 28, at 7 p.m. for an old fashioned sing-along and that also includes the 1926 silent comedy “Mighty Like A Moose.” The audience will be able to sing along to favorites such as “Nothing Could be Finer than to be in Carolina,” “The Sound of Music, ”“Carolina Moon” and many other popular songs. Lyrics, along with nostalgic images of summer in North Carolina, will be projected onto the theater’s movie screen.

Mr. Andersen will play his original score to the hilarious 28-minute silent comedy “Mighty Like A Moose” starring Charley Chase. It’s the story of a very plain husband and wife who both secretly decide to get plastic surgery to improve their appearance. After the operations they don’t recognize each other and try to pick each other up on a date.

Tickets are $10 adults and $5 students. Tickets can be purchased in-person or by  telephone with credit card or cash noon-6pm Monday through Friday through our administrative offices in the theater’s second floor (enter on Fourth Street side), or by calling the Civic Center at 910-738-4339 Ext. 106. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Theater lobby box office opens for ticket sales one hour prior to performance.
