The Bladen County Health Department released the daily COVID-19 Update. The positive COVID-19 cases and related hospitalization continue to climb in the county.

Dr. Teresa (Terri) Duncan, Bladen Health and Human Service Director stated, “Most recently, we have seen an increase in the number of positive cases in 18-50 year olds. Please encourage family and friends to be vaccinated and tested if they have symptoms of covid or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive.”

In addition to fever, cough, and shortness of breath, the CDC says symptoms of COVID-19 (coronavirus) may also include chills, headache, muscle pain, sore throat, and a new loss of taste. If you are sick please stay home.

Dr. Duncan reminds the public that rapid testing is still available at the local health department Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.

Please practice social distancing, wear a mask if you have not been vaccinated, perform good hand washing, and get vaccinated.
