There will be a meeting Tuesday night for those who are interested in becoming a member of the Dublin Peanut Festival Committee. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the Dublin Lions Club building.

Horace Wyatt said, “Anyone who is interested (in the Peanut Festival) needs to be there.”

You do not have to reside in Dublin to be a member of the committee. Wyatt said the committee needs a minimum of 10 members but 25 members would be ideal.

“We’ve got to elect new officers,” said Wyatt.

He said the committee has a need for members who are able to be active all year long working and planning for the festival. The committee meets once per month except in August, when the committee will meet weekly until the festival.

In September 2017, an announcement was made the Peanut Festival would be ending. Wyatt said it remains to be seen if that will be the case.

If you are interested in the Peanut Festival, you are encouraged to attend Tuesday’s meeting.
