Phone Goes for a Swim
I can’t say this enough – back your phone up!!! Either on iCloud or on your PC on iTunes.
Someone in my house placed their iPhone near the kitchen sink and you know the rest. I spent a 30 minutes on the phone with Apple and a couple of hours in the Chapel Hill Apple Store plus travel time. Never mind I dropped $320 bucks for a replacement iPhone.
Thankfully, she moved her photos to Google photo a couple of weeks ago. There’s no backup to get messages back and apps. Hundreds of contacts are not back on the phone but they should be soon.
FYI: the iPhone 7 is rumored to be waterproof.
Take some time now and back up your phone.
iCloud backup: If you have less than 100 photos and less than 30 apps, use iCloud. It’s under Settings/iCloud/Backup
Itunes backup: Download iTunes if you don’t have it and then connect your iPhone to your PC/Mac. Sync’ing is not backing up. Look down the main device page on iTunes for the backup/restore area and press backup.
So… Get a LifeProof case if you can’t keep your phone away from water. No matter what, back it up every month. Some of your text messages may contain very important information!!!!
