Bladenboro Middle School sixth-grade student Jeremiah Bryan placed second in the North Carolina Soil & Water Conservation slide show contest themed “Water, the Cycle of Life.”
Jeremiah, who is taught by Dr. Adrian Batten, won in his category at the county district level and Area 7 level before advancing to the state competition. There are nine Soil and Water Conservation Districts in North Carolina.
The Bladen Soil and Water Conservation District thanks all teachers who made time for the competition and students who participated. The District believes that teaching students the importance of conserving our natural resources at an early age will benefit everyone in the future.
The yearly contest is open to Bladen County students from sixth grade through high school.
