BELMONT – Bladenboro native John Bowen recorded a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds as his Belmont Abbey Crusaders raced past Christendom 105-41 Wednesday night.
Bowen also dished out 3 assists and had 2 steals. Saturday the West Bladen grad pumped in 11 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, blocked 2 shots and had 2 steals, but the Crusaders were edged 78-75 by King University.
It was the first loss Conference Carolinas loss for the Crusaders who had their 6-game winning streak snapped. Belmont Abbey is 8-1 in the conference and 15-4 overall.
Bowen who has started 12 games averages 8 points, 6 rebounds and 1.6 blocked shots per game. The Crusaders will travel to Limestone Saturday for a 4 p.m. game.
