West Bladen grad John Bowen just missed a double with 15 points and 9 rebounds as his Belmont Abbey Crusaders closed out regular season play with a 98-93 victory over Emmanuel.

Bowen racked up 13 points and 7 rebounds in a 97-76 Belmont Abbey win over Lees-McRae, and contributed 9 points and 9 rebounds in a 73-67 Crusader loss to King. The Bladenboro native scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in an 85-68 victory over Mount Olive.

The 6-8 sophmore averaged 8.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocked shots in 25 games.

The Crusaders finished the season with a 14-4 Conference Carolinas record and a 21-7 overall record. Belmont Abbey received the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament and will host No. 7 seed Limestone in the opening round Tuesday at 7 p.m.
