WILMINGTON – Former West Bladen star John Bowen scored 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds as his UNC-Wilmington Seahawks posted wins this week over Campbell and Delaware State.
Monday Bowen played 11 minutes in a 78-59 Seahawk victory over Campbell. The 6-7 senior’s tip-in midway the 2nd half ended a 6-point Camel run and put UNCW up 53-39 with 8:08 left to play. Bowen finished with 3 points and 3 rebounds.
In Wednesday’s 87-63 Seahawk victory over Delaware State, Bowen logged 14 minutes on the court and tallied 5 points, 3 rebounds and a blocked shot. The Bladenboro native’s tip-in with 12:22 remaining pushed the UNCW lead to 65-37 – the largest margin of the game. Bowen later dropped in a lay-up at the 9:52 mark.
UNC-Wilmington improved to 6-3 on the season and will not play again until their Colonial Athletic Association opener against Drexel in Philadelphia on January, 2nd.
