TracyJohnsonTracy L. Johnson has been named director of maternal/child health services for Southeastern Health. She is responsible for Southeastern Regional Medical Center’s obstetrics and gynecology, labor and delivery, and postpartum mother/baby units as well as the Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

A native of Providence, R.I., Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Rhode Island College there in 1999. She most recently served as nurse director of the Family Birth Center at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., as well as nurse manager of the Family Birth Center at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va., and nurse manager for labor and delivery at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, Va.

“I am very passionate about women’s and children’s health services,” said Johnson.  “I feel that the health care system has already started a great process of improving the care of this service line and I look forward to improving our services for the community and for our children.”

Johnson and her husband, Roger, live in Hope Mills and have six grown children.
