Jose Osorio and Jay McGill Qualify for Tennis Regionals

DUBLIN – West Bladen’s Jose Osorio and East Bladen’s Jay McGill earned berths in the NCHSAA Class 2A MidEast Regionals with their play in the Three Rivers Conference Tournament Thursday.

Osorio defeated McGill in Thursday’s semi-final match to advance to the TRC Class 2A championship match where he lost to South Columbus’ Griffin Hanna.

By finishing in the top four in the conference tournament, Osorio and McGill qualified for the regional that will be hosted by Jordan-Matthews High School in Siler City on May 4th.

West Bladen’s Desmond Lesesne defeated East Bladen’s Jacob Barber in an elimination match for the league’s fifth regional berth. However, Lesesne was defeated by St. Pauls’ Carlos Luna, the tournament’s No. 2 seed, 6-2, 6-0 in the final consolation match for the regional.

East Bladen’s doubles team of Jackson Bostic and Tucker Norton were eliminated in an elimination match by St. Pauls Victor De La Cruz and Leonardo Garcia.
